**SPECIAL NOTE**

Trash Pick-up Concerns and Update: 4/10/2020

I have had numerous conversations in the last few days with local, regional and national representatives from Republic Services and they assure me that they will resume normal trash pick-up starting this coming Monday 4/13/2020.

This means that regular household trash placed curbside, in trash bags or cans will be pick-up. Keep in mind that there is a (10) bag maximum per household. They will also back track and pick-up any trash in bags and cans previously left.

Lastly, bulk trash pick-up is still suspended until further notice. This includes large items such as furniture, carpets, large tree branches and stumps, mattresses, bed springs, white goods (all appliances) or any large item or dense material that will not fit into a standard 30-32-gallon garbage can or handled by one worker. Please do not place these items curbside.

The below changes were instituted solely by Republic without any impute or consent from the town and although we understand the need to make adjustments of bulk pick-up temporarily because of the pandemic, it has come to our attention that Republic has also decided to make other changes not mentioned in their statement above. Rest assured that we will not stand idly by and allow Republic to manipulate and breach our binding contract and take advantage of our town and residents during this very difficult time.

Republic Services garbage and recycling crews are working diligently to continue to serve the Town’s residents with curbside collection services while experiencing an increase in volume of household trash. To protect garbage and recycling staff during this time, we ask that you do the following:

*No garbage outside of bags and/or cans (anything else will be left at the curb).

*No Recycling outside of the cart container.

*Suspended bulk waste collection (during the COVID 19 Pandemic only).

*Suspended yard waste collection (during the COVID 19 Pandemic only).

All collection dates and weeks will remain the same.

Thank you for your understanding during this time and once this pandemic is over, we will resume as normal.
